Instructional Coordinator of Criminal

Justice Programs

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

Act in the absence of the Public Safety Director to assure quality control of the vocational law enforcement, correctional, and continuing education criminal justice training programs with chief duties being the daily scheduling of instructors, courses and facilities and maintenance of records.  This position also holds the responsibility for verifying instructor records to director.

Partial Duties include:

  1. Management of all courses to assure that criminal justice training, both recruit and advanced education course programs, meet the goals and objectives of North Florida Community College and the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC).
  1. Be prepared to teach classes as needed in the absence of scheduled instructors, and/or during course testing.
  1. Act as liaison for Director when needed with agencies, students and administration.
  1. Ensure safety of students and training school instructors.
  1. Report deficiencies in facilities, equipment and supplies to the Director.
  1. Prepare requisitions for supplies as needed.

CJSTC.

  1. Assist in the development, administration and security of examinations
  1. Report all expenditures to be charged to CJSTC Trust Fund to comply with Florida Statutes, CJSTC Rules and Policies and Procedures.
  1. Prepare all documentation required for NFCC and CJSTC courses, including student certificates for advanced/specialized course.
  1. Report all incidences of violations of academy rules to director to assure compliance with CJSTC rules and Florida Statutes.
  1. Conduct student orientations and provide a set of applicable rules to recruit students. Make recommendations to the Director on disciplinary matters as prescribed by the Recruit Manual.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited  College or University preferred, or graduate of the FBI National Academy, or Southern Police Institute, or five (5)  years related experience and/or training in the criminal justice field. Candidate must hold a current Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission  General Instructor Certification, and/or meet FAC 11B-20.001 instructor requirements High Liability Certifications preferred.

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must hold a Florida law enforcement or corrections certification from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Standards Training Commission (FDLE/CJSTC), or be able to attain certification within 180 days of employment as a condition of employment.

Should be eligible in all respects to become an active Law Enforcement Reserve Officer.  If a Local Reserve Law Enforcement position is available, participation is required.

Must have a valid driver’s License.

Associate Dean of Economic

Development & Technical Programs

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Associate Dean of Economic Development and Technical Programs will be to identify, research, and facilitate development of new career education programs and Workforce Training opportunities based on the current and anticipated workforce needs of the NFCC district and business community. 

Partial Duties include:

  1. Supervision of any PSAV programs for which existing directors do not have oversight.
  1. Regular review of curriculum frameworks to determine any changes to be communicated to appropriate director or lead instructor and CAO.
  1. Identify and research potential new PSAV programs and certification opportunities.
  1. Act as liaison between NFCC and regional Workforce Development Board.
  1. NFCC liaison to district and business community for purpose to assess current and anticipated training needs.
  1. Collaborate with NFCC grant writer for potential grant opportunities to provide certification and workforce training for our district.
  1. Support CAO in efforts to ensure high quality delivery of selected Career Technical and Workforce training programs.
  1. Monitors and reports on performance of Career Technical and Workforce programs to include action plans for continuous improvement and program expansion.
  1. Assist Directors in maintaining and identifying program equipment needs.

Academic Case Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

The Academic Case Manager will work with the Student Support Services project participants to provide ongoing academic retention/transfer services.  These services will include:  academic advising and career exploration, personal and financial aid counseling, the provision of workshops and the preparation of students for transfer to a four-year university.

Partial duties include:

  • Must have personal and educational philosophy compatible with the goals, objectives, and mission of North Florida Community College and the Student Support Services program.
  • Development of individualized academic plans, academic advising and course selection for participants each semester.
  • Maintain monthly contact with program participants and provide guidance in academic, career, social, personal, and multicultural matters
  • Provide academic services to include counseling, advocating and encouraging students to become a part of the campus culture.
  • Provide intensive case management services for SSS participants including developing of plans and interventions to enhance cognitive and non-cognitive skills
  • Act as a liaison with other departments/programs to provide a variety of college informational resources and services to SSS participants.
  • Coordinate with student activities department, enrollment services, and other internal departments as necessary to provide a support system for participants.
  • Maintain thorough documentation in participant files as outlined by program policies and procedures.
  • Design and present workshops each semester.

Director of Resource Development

Full Job Description

The Director is the key management leader of the North Florida Community College Foundation, responsible for achieving the College's mission and financial objectives and for overseeing the administration of its Foundation’s strategic planning and operations. The mission is to build financial and public support for NFCC through: fundraising that provides financial support to the College, its programs, and its students and building public and business awareness of the College and how it benefits our community. The  Director also supervises the Coordinator of Grant Development; who provides leadership and direction for the identification, development and coordination of public/private grant opportunities consistent with the College’s strategic goals.

Working closely with the College President, Senior College Staff and the Foundation Board, the Director's key responsibilities will include the administration of operations, fundraising, institutional advancement and the management of foundation staff in, development activities, marketing, community outreach and ensuring accountability in scholarship administration and fund management. The position may have other duties/accountability as assigned.

Partial Duties Include:

Fundraising:

  • Leads and manages fundraising and development of resources necessary to support established fundraising priorities, setting the pace and leadership for the cultivation and solicitation of donors through the development of campaigns that fully maximize fundraising processes and the efforts of NFCC Foundation.
  • Communicates the college's mission, vision and goals to donors and prospective donors. Develops and sustains individual, corporate, community and foundation relations. Builds and maintains ongoing relationships with major donors and actively works to cultivate and solicit leadership donations and planned giving opportunities.

 Administration:

  • Executes and takes responsibility for long-range strategies that ensure the NFCC Foundation makes consistent and timely progress toward achieving its mission.
  • Supports the Foundation Board in their responsibility for the fiscal integrity of the foundation to include the submission of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization, and all federal and state laws governing 501(c)(3) non-profits.

Administration of Operations:

  • Ensures proper stewardship and recognition of all gifts. Works in partnership with the college's financial aid and fiscal affairs offices to award scholarships, fund programmatic initiatives and resolve student funding problems and concerns.
  • Responsible for fiscal management operating within the approved budget, as well as ensures maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position. In coordination with the Chief Business Officer, provides direction to the Foundation Accountant.

Board Governance:

  • Leads and directs the NFCC Foundation in a manner that supports and guides the organization's mission as defined by the NFCC Board or Trustees, seeking their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and increasing the overall visibility of the Foundation throughout the college district, region, and state consistent with the development goals.
  • Communicates effectively with the Foundation Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Foundation Board to function properly and to make informed decisions

Coordinator of Recruitment

Job Description

This is a full time position. 

SUMMARY
Supervises/Manages campus-wide recruitment initiatives.  Manages the Office of Recruitment.

The Coordinator of Recruitment takes a leadership role in successfully strategizing and implementing the College’s recruitment and outreach initiatives so as to measurably increase prospective student interest in and applicants to the College.

Because this is a new position, NFCC’s recruitment efforts need to be organized from the ground up: gathering information, analyzing student data, formulating a recruitment plan, and making recommendations for events, promotions, digital advertising, social media, and other means of reaching prospective students. This position will report directly to the Director of Recruitment, Advising, and Retention.

Partial Duties include:

  1. Plan and implement creative, targeted recruitment programs addressing specific recruitment objectives within the institution.
  2. Strengthen and expand the reach of our recruitment presence at area high schools by creating strategic and aggressive recruitment plans built on analysis of historic data, research into secondary institutions, and ongoing assessment of recruitment effectiveness.
  3. Expand and strengthen recruitment practices geared towards nontraditional and adult learners.
  4. Develop a recruitment strategy for minority students.Initiate and manage implementation of innovative and effective prospect and applicant follow-up campaigns.
  5. Oversee a calendar of campus-wide recruitment activities (on-and off-campus).
  6. Manage recruitment staff.
  7. Plan and execute multiple recruitment events throughout the year to include coordinating the annual Super Saturday event.
  8. Conduct training events for all recruitment personnel to ensure that a clear, consistent message and information regarding all NFCC programs is timely and accurate.
  9. Recruit and train current students to serve as ambassadors for the College.

Programmer/Data Retrieval Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a full time position. 

SUMMARY
Identifying/implementing/documenting data retrieval protocols, identifying potential challenges and opportunities for improvement in data management in order to contribute to the data collection, analysis, and reporting activities of the IR Department of the college. Work as member of the team in the IR office to produce archived information for planning purposes.

Partial Duties include:

Respond in a timely manner to requests for data (course success, completions, transfers, financial, etc.) stored in Banner. Must be able to converse effectively, and in non-technical terms, when eliciting fully-formed descriptions of needed information by various campus constituencies.

Contribute to IR team duty to provide training to campus employees on use of Banner, Crystal Reports, Argos, Blumen, and other campus software packages directly related to data used to improve learning/retention/student satisfaction/financial planning/etc.

Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.                                                                                                     
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of an Associate’s degree in MIS or CIS with computer applications development OR five (5) or more years of experience in data management position, including knowledge of relational databases, preferably in banking or the educational environment.

Required

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis in EXCEL. Programming skills with SQL knowledge/willingness to learn is a must. Ability to work both independently and as a member of team and to do so reflecting a high level of commitment to confidentiality and a high standard of professional ethics.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, social science, or related discipline AND a minimum of two years of data management experience; experience with relational databases and/or enterprise resource planning systems, such as Workday, Banner, or PeopleSoft; prior experience in data management in educational institution/student services helpful; Linux expertise very valuable.

Commercial Truck Driving Instructor

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • This is a part-time, non-benefited position.
  • Instructors will work no more than 25 hours per week.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a Level II background check.

SUMMARY

Through strong, local support from the truck driving and timber industry, North Florida Community College plans to begin offering a certified program in the field of commercial truck driving. This program is designed to prepare new drivers for their commercial driver’s license ("CDL") as well continuing education refreshers for existing drivers.  A portion of the training will focus on the specific skills needed within the timber industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess an active Florida Class A CDL (commercial driver’s license) and a current Department of Transportation physical.
  • Over the road experience, clean driving record. Preferred experience in the logging industry. 

Duties include:  

  • Teach classroom portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including permits, logbooks and trip planning.
  • Teach hands on portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including backing, shifting, and behind the wheel.
  • Maintain student files.
  • Maintain Truck Driver Training Program equipment.
  • Monitor inventory of training supplies.
  • Evaluate and grade students throughout the program.
  • Maintain relationships with employers in the trucking industry and assist with the recruitment/placement of students.

North Florida Community College is looking for quality Adjunct Instructors to teach day and/or night Regular and Dual Enrollment College Classes. The following disciplines are needed:

Requirements: 

  • A Master's degree (or higher) in the discipline being taught or a Master's degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the discipline.

  • Chemistry Instructor: A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the chemistry discipline.
  • Biology Instructor: A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the biology discipline. Evening hours preferred.
  • Math Adjunct Instructor: A Master's degree (or higher) in the discipline being taught or a Master's degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in Math. (Fall Semester)

  • EMS Adjunct Instructor: Must be a paramedic with at least 4 year’s experience and have successfully completed an associate's degree or higher. Must be willing to attend a 40 hour instructional methodology course.

  • Interpreter: For Deaf students - Must be certified. Degrees not required.
