2017-2018 Season is Here

The North Florida Community College Artist Series presented its first program in 1959. Since that time, it has continued to grow and bring excellent performing arts and arts education events to the NFCC campus and community. Over the years, hundreds of world-renowned performers have been featured on the Van H. Priest Auditorium stage and thousands of patrons have attended performances.

Presidio Brass

Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 | 7 PM

A bold new generation in brass entertainment! Presidio Brass combines a brass quintet, piano and percussion instruments with fresh, original arrangements. Through their hit touring show of Hollywood’s greatest hits, Sounds of the Cinema, these five young men present film music with a good dose of wit and humor. Members of Presidio Brass have shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Quincy Jones and more. A fun season opener.

Sarah Mac Band

Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 | 7 PM

Bluesy, Jazzy Rock with a healthy dose of Soul. Sarah Mac, Claire and Charlie have amassed an impressive reputation for their engaging combination of blues, jazz and acoustic rock. Sarah’s voice has the full power and grit of Janis Joplin, the sweet, soothing breathy tone of Feist or Edie Brickell, and the gut-wrenching raw tones of an old soul or gospel singer. Paired with Charlie’s intricate, sultry guitar work and Claire’s solid, intriguing bass lines, this trio leaves you wanting to hear more.

The Nutcracker by Dance Alive National Ballet

A spectacular holiday favorite! Become entranced by the beauty of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her dazzling Court, enchanted by the swirling snowflakes and breathtaking snow, and cheer for the tiny toy soldiers and their leader, the handsome Nutcracker Prince. Performed by Dance Alive National Ballet.

Community Connection: Thanks to a partnership with Shannon McCook/Danceology dance studio in Live Oak, local dance and gymnastics students will star alongside professional Dance Alive National Ballet dancers on stage during the Dec. 8 performance.

Olate Dogs - Winners of America's Got Talent

Thursday, March 1, 2018 | 7 PM

Unbelievable pet tricks! Led by Richard Olate and his son Nicholas Olate, the Olate Dogs are a high-energy, fast-paced theatrical act filled with doggie friendly and amazing pet tricks. Most of Richard’s dogs are rescues from shelters. The Olate Dogs can be seen at NBA halftimes and touring the country making kids of all ages laugh and smile. The Olate Family, winners of season seven of “America’s Got Talent,” bring their adorable, twirling and flipping poodle-mix rescue dogs to NFCC for an evening of unbelievable pet tricks.

John McEuen and The String Wizards

An incredible journey interwoven with music, stories and memories! When the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band recorded Will the Circle Be Unbroken in 1971, the icons of bluegrass, country and west coast country rock convened for what is considered one of the most important American recordings and the beginning of “Americana” music. Join Grammy-award winning host John McEuen (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), with his banjo, guitar, fiddle and mandolin, and The String Wizards on an incredible journey interwoven with music, stories and memories of the iconic ‘Circle’ album including Dirt Band favorites and hot bluegrass.

Artist Series Angels Add New Art to Van H. Priest Auditorium

Artwork by Tallahassee artist Mark Dickson and NFCC student artist Kaleb Wyche was unveiled in the Van H. Priest Auditorium lobby and dedicated in March 2015 to honor the Artist Series Angels’ 10th year anniversary of supporting the arts in our community. Thank you!
